Francois Haasbroek

Young Francois Haasbroek makes wine alongside Kevin Arnold at the prestigious Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch. He graduated with his Bsc in viticulture and oenology from Stellenbosch University in 2002. After working with Neil Ellis, he headed to California to widen his experience and then did likewise in New Zealand. Which leaves out Burgundy, which is his favourite wine region to visit, but no doubt that is still to come.

Somehow, Francois says, various people who knw him got talking in London – and he got his present position at Waterford a couple of weeks after coming back from New Zealand in July 2004.
