Ex-Cape man gets
a French MBA with Michel Rolland as mentor
From Henry:
Johan
Gouws is originally from the Cape but resides on Guernsey in the Channel
Islands. I would like to share his achievement with the wine community
in his beloved homeland, South Africa. I also attach a photo of Johan
Gouws with his mentor (on the left), the world renowned Michel
Rolland.
Johan is one of the
few oenophiles to receive a MBA from a Grande École in France. As
a banker with 11 years experience in the City of London, including
Credit Suisse Group and Cazenove, he combined his knowledge of
investment banking with his passion for wine by studying the wine
industry from an investment point of view. Mr Gouws graduated from the
Bordeaux École de Management for his thesis on Investing in Wine as an
Alternative Asset. Michel Rolland, the world number one wine consultant
and economist, was assigned as his mentor. Fellow students of Mr Gouws’s
MBA class include Italian economist and entrepreneur Edoardo Narduzzi
and Paul Merton (son of Nobel prize winner Robert Merton).
