Ode to Consol Glass
Submitted by Moerig, a song of hate for South Africa's monopolistic bottle supplier. A sing-along for 99% of SA winemakers who are subjected to this injustice every day. Sing to the tune of Johnny Cash’s ‘San Quentin’ (the experience also elevated with the mimicked cheers and jeers of prison thugs).
Ode to Consol Glass
Consol Glass, you've been livin' hell to wine.
You've monopolised lousy bottles it seems since the beginning of time.
(bit staccato, but just imagine it)
I've seen 'em come and go and I've seen 'em die:
and long ago the Krone’s stopped askin' why.
Consol Glass, I hate every inch of you.
Your exorbitant junk has scarred me thru an' thru.
And I'll walk out a wiser, though helpless man;
Mister wine consumer, you can't understand.
Consol Glass, what good do you think you do?
Do you think we'll be thankful when you're through?
You bend my heart and mind and you warp my soul,
your unashamed arrogance turns my blood a little cold.
Consol Glass, may you rot and burn in hell.
May your faulty furnaces finally fall apart and may I live to tell.
May all the wine world forget you ever stood.
And may all wine lovers understand you did no good.
Consol Glass, I hate every inch of you.

Job hoppers
I see there's a job advertised for a publisher editor for Grape. Where's Christian Eedes going?
