SA scoops green awards
South Africa did remarkably well when the leading European trade publication, Drinks Business, last week announced the winners in its inaugural "Green Awards". The awards are to reward members of the alcohol industry "for their forward-thinking and dynamic ethical practices".
The publication says:
"Paarl winery Backsberg Estate won the Sustainability Award while Inge Kotzé, project co-ordinator for the Biodiversity and Wine Initiative was awarded Green Personality of the Year for her “passion, influence and determination in getting her message across in South Africa,” said Nicola Jenkin of WRAP, who presented the award.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was given to Elgin-based winemaker Paul Cluver, for his “energy and holistic approach to environmental issues,” said Dan Jago."
The story and the full list of winners is available on Drinks Business.

Re: SA scoops green awards
Upon release, I was embarrassed to admit just how much I liked this band. This is very slick, shiny, professional, pop music; and I was coming out of my hard rock/metal lust and moving towards emc certification the indie rock/grunge that was to come. There was nothing "cool" about Roxette, and everybody from 6 year olds to fully grown insurance salespeople found something to enjoy in their music. I had always gravitated to "image" and Roxette severely challenged me to overlook image and take music for what it was. To tsep be honest, I doubt I would've liked Roxette so much if I hadn't gone through a phase that expanded my taste to include The Fixx and Wang Chung (finding both bands to be quite enjoyable). By this point, I lost my aversion to keyboards and new wave music. "The Look" had a nice Rickenbacker guitar line, but it had hcse a drum machine, synthesizers, and stacked vocals ("Na Na Na Na Na Na", anyone?). "Dangerous" was a full-fledged kitchen-sink production that was potently catchy, so shiny and perfect that only robots could've executed it. cissp This was far simpler and easier to process than most of what I was listening to at the time.
